My husband is singing to the dog. He is trying to get a feel for D.J.'s musical tastes. John states with certainty that the dog does NOT like "Peaches" by the Presidents of the United States of America, and seems to favour Leon Russell. Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Spirit of the West were also tried out, as John had a feeling that D.J. would be a country kind of dog. John also tried celtic music to yawns of boredom from D.J., and as he's a German Shepherd, I tried singing him "Happy Birthday" in German, which didn't impress him much, either. 

Leon Russell's "If I were a Carpenter" was the favourite, apparently.
