| Today was a wonderful day if you like acquiring things and spending money and i candidly admit to both of those vices. i know it's not going to take me to a good place in the afterlife, but as long as they have books i don't think i'll mind the heat so much.
i got a laptop computer. It's absolutely beautiful. The top of it is so shiny that you can see your reflection in it - one of its selling points for me, actually, as i'm as interesting in the aesthetic appeal as much as the gigs and ram and stuff, and inside it is shiny and white. oh, and it is mine mine mine! do i sound happy? i am happy.
they didn't even tell us about some of the cool features at the store and i had to discover them on my own - but i found out that it has a built-in webcam, and i've never had one of those before, so that's neat! but the neatest thing of all? instead of putting in a password, you can opt to use your thumbprint as your user i.d. i feel so much like james bond that i can feel my firm jaw forming and my hand starting to form in the shape of a martini glass. minus the olive. i hate olives.
to you people it's probably old hat, but i got a wireless mouse, too, which is neat and even glides across lumpy blankets on the bed [there are no smooth blankets when you're sharing your bed with a german shepherd pup], and it's silver and neon green [my choice!].
we bought aislinn a mini-dvd player that almost fits in the palm of her hand, as she pointed out that everyone else in this house has some form of personal electronics except for her. they were only $100 and her new movie, 'happy feet', has made her as happy as the blasted penguins. i've promised to watch it with her tomorrow, and after that damned 'march of the penguins', where half the bloody birds died and broke my heart, i don't take to penguin movies easily any more, so this is a sacrifice of magnificent proportions.
can't figure out how to connect my laptop to the internet yet. this is being typed downstairs on the old-fashioned sitting-on-a-table computer.
love to everyone as right now i love everyone! -edith.
and can someone tell me what i'm doing wrong with my html codes for italics and underlining, please! |
