Point number one: We cannot prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt, but we are 99.99% certain that our elder daughter has been stealing money from us. Not for drugs or anything like that, but she has a boundless social schedule that requires dinners out, trips out for coffee, ice cream [even in this weather!], smoothies, shopping, movies, etc., and these social events take place three to four times a week. Taking cash from the grocery money with which we entrust her is simply not on. Luckily she has a job now to tide her over until university starts in September. Of course, she denies everything, but even if we had photographs, fingerprints, and sworn witness testimony from nuns, she would deny everything. It's in her nature, unfortunately. So many good sides to her. This is NOT one of them. We have not figured out what to do next, and are sleeping on it. Or rather, John's sleeping and I, manic, am not.
Point number two: Just when I was getting to like the revised commission structure at work, and was making a decent wage because of it [it's been in place for a little under two months], they've cut the commission amount by 25%. Of course, the higher-ups would never dream of a 25% salary cut. And there goes a decent living wage again.
Point number three: With the statistics on homelessness in Washington, D.C. as they are, and the lack of funds in D.C. to build more homeless shelters and to provide more programs such as detox for street people, how the hell did they afford to build a new stadium for its grand debut on opening night? It really makes me sick. I am certain [without having yet found testimentary truth] that the homeless people in the stadium area were picked up in a sweep and deposited elsewhere, just like it happened during the Atlanta Olympics. This sort of thing makes me furious, and it happens in Toronto, too, when big conventions come to town, or the Pope or the Queen stop by.
End of rant. For now.
