| I've been cleaning out my study lately, bit by bit - I swear, I could be cleaning in there until the end of my days.
What I found yesterday was a couple of delightful things, long-lost. One was the ultrasound pictures that were taken when I was expecting Aislinn. I've been hoping that eventually they'd turn up. Once again I was startled how much the profile of the fetus looked like me as a little girl - I could put profile shots side by side and they're nearly identical. It was because of these 16-week ultrasound pics that John & I decided that our unborn child, known to us as 'Og', was probably a girl. We didn't find out for sure, for one thing, because ultrasound techs were much less willing to reveal gender 10 years ago, and also because we wanted a surprise in the delivery room.
The other thing I found was the baby name book that we used when choosing a name for Og. It's just a cheapie - any deeper research we did on the internet - I actually got it at the supermarket checkout. It's the 1998 edition, and has more than 1,500 names, claims the cover! I eagerly scanned my final list of potential girl's names - and I think they're pretty a decade down the road. What do you think of the possible names we chose for the little baby whom we eventually named Aislinn? [That's pronounced Ash-LEEN, with the emphasis on the capitals.] Here's the list:
Adrienne, Claire, Eleanor, Grace, Isabella [or Isabelle], Kelly, Moira, Naomi, Rosamund, Rowena, and Zoe.
